Malaysia: A Destination of Medical Excellence and Advanced Technology

His Excellency Mohd Shuhada Othman, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh inaugurates the Event at Dhaka.

FRONTPAGE, Dhaka: Malaysia has reaffirmed its position as a leading destination for medical excellence and advanced healthcare technology in South and Southeast Asia, said Mohd Shuhada Othman, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh.

He made the remarks while inaugurating the Malaysia Healthcare Pavilion at the Dhaka Travel Mart 2026, held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka from April 9 to 11, 2026.

The pavilion launch is part of Malaysia Healthcare Week Bangladesh 2026, organised by the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) with support from Irving Aviation Limited. The initiative aligns with Malaysia Year of Medical Tourism 2026 (MYMT2026), themed “Healing Meets Hospitality.” The campaign promotes Malaysia’s unique healthcare value proposition—combining advanced medical treatment with compassionate care, cultural warmth, and personalised patient services.

With competitive treatment costs and strong air connectivity between Dhaka and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia continues to grow as a trusted and accessible healthcare destination for Bangladeshi patients.

It is also mentioned that The Malaysia Healthcare Pavilion highlights the country’s medical expertise and specialised treatment capabilities, serving as a platform to strengthen engagement with Bangladeshi stakeholders and raise awareness of Malaysia’s healthcare offerings.

As the leading Malaysian healthcare providers like IHH Healthcare Malaysia, KL Fertility Centre, Sunway Medical Centre, KPJ Healthcare and National Heart Institute (IJN) participated in the event. These institutions—recipients of accolades at the Malaysia Flagship Medical Tourism Hospital 2025 Awards—are presented their specialised services and treatment capabilities to industry partners and stakeholders in Bangladesh.

Organizer told the Frontpage, their desired goal is strengthen Regional Healthcare Collaboration and expanding Access to Quality Care to the people of Bangladesh. The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council reiterated its commitment to strengthening cross-border healthcare collaboration and improving access to quality medical services across the region.
