The embassy of Japan in Dhaka and Japan Foundation in collaboration with the Dhaka University’s Institute of Modern Languages and American International University Bangladesh organised a four-day film screening festival titled Japanese Film Festival 2023 from March 9 to 12, said a press release.
The festival featured six Japanese films with a wide range of genres, including drama, musical romance, and anime. It was inaugurated at the Institute of Modern Languages on March 9 and continued there till March 11. Besides, two films were screened at the American International University Bangladesh on March 12.
Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh Iwama Kiminori, acting director of the DU Institute of Modern Languages professor Mohammad Absar Kamal and head of Japanese Language and Culture at the IML professor Mohammed Ansarul Alam were present at the opening day while the AIUB pro-vice chancellor Abdur Rahman was present at the closing ceremony of the festival.
