Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian smuggled goods worth BDT 1.61 crore and detained one person during multiple operations across Sylhet’s border areas on Thursday.
According to the Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB), the drives were carried out in Protapur, Sripur, Tamabil, Bichnakandi, Kalairag, and Banglabazar.
The confiscated items include illegal sarees, fuchka, cumin, cows, body lotion, tomatoes, blankets, onions, bidis, apples, olive oil, soap, sugar, oranges, ginger, raw turmeric, and liquor. A pickup van used for smuggling was also seized.
