Three armed criminals have been arrested in Ashulia, an industrial area in Savar, by members of the Bangladesh Army on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from Jamgora Army Camp conducted a raid in Ghoshbagh Purbo Para area of Ashulia early in the morning.
The detainees have been identified as Md. Bishal, 20, Nazmul, 20, and Shipon, 22.
During the raid, army personnel searched the criminals’ residence and recovered a modern shotgun, 13 locally made sharp machetes, four knives, extortion money, and other evidence related to criminal activities.
The arrested individuals and the recovered weapons have been handed over to Ashulia Police Station for further legal action.
Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Hannan said that a case is currently being processed against the detainees.
