A businessman was killed after being hit by a vehicle while riding his motorcycle at Kaliakair upazila in Gazipur on Wednesday morning (October 8).
The accident occurred in Dokanpara area on the Dhaka-Tangail highway.
The dead was Badruzzaman Alam, 55, son of Md Rakib Mia from Nirosa Kajladighi area under Nawabganj upazila in Dinajpur.
According to Sub-Inspector Md. Alamin of Naojor Highway Police Station, Badruzzaman lived in Konabari Housing area of Gazipur city and ran a grocery shop. On Wednesday morning, he was traveling from Kaliakair to Konabari by motorcycle. When he reached Dokanpara area on the Dhaka-Tangail highway, a vehicle hit his motorcycle, causing him to fall on the road. He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.
Police recovered the body. Legal procedures are currently underway.
